Jessica is a film director and screenwriter, creating both new, original films and adapting classics. In 2012 she won the BAFTA JJ Screenwriting Bursary and is currently writing the screenplay for Nell Gwynn, her Olivier award winning comedy, for Working Title, as well as adapting the novel Longbourn by Jo Baker for Studio Canal, Persuasion for Fox Searchlight and creating a TV series, based on her original play Blue Stockings for Monumental Television. She also wrote the screenplay for Horrible Histories: The Movie. Jessica’s original screenplay for Summerland starring Gemma Arterton is her directorial debut supported by the BFI.
